The foundation of community – whether it’s meaningful relationships or a break from daily routine or an afternoon out with loved ones – isn’t covered by government funds.

The Englers knew that when they turned to the Maumee area community in the 1950s, asking for help in supporting youngsters with developmental disabilities. The contributions came – dollars, sweat and muscle, and volunteer hours full of compassion and kindness. Within two years, the Englers home had grown to take in about two dozen children.

We need your help today as we support more than 400 men, women and children with disabilities on AHHA properties and in services throughout Northwest Ohio.

Maybe you can volunteer your time or donate dollars or services. Or here’s a fun way to help – and yes, this is true! – shop and dine in Uptown Maumee, where you’ll find AHHA Studios and Georgette’s Fair Trade Grounds & Gifts.
